Tatamy Bridge

Well, our bridge appears to be showing it's age once again. It was closed for several hours this afternoon due to a failing expansion joint.

According to the Department of Transportation, the bridge is scheduled to be replaced and is currently in the "Preliminary Engineering Phase" (whatever that means). PennDOT lists Stanley J. Poplawski as their project contact person. They also were kind enough to provide Mr. Poplawski's email address, which I have provided for you here. I think we should all drop him a note and let him know that this bridge needs to be replaced NOW before someone gets injured (or worse . . .).

I sent him a little not. This bridge is in terrible condition, probably the worst i have ever seen. I think our past officials have been sitting on their rear ends chatting at the fire hall too long.

Thank you kind sir. It might also help if we all emailed our legislators in Harrisburg, Senator Wunderling and Rep. Grucela. I'll get their email addresses and pop them in here tomorrow.
